Individuals who would like to volunteer at the library will need to be at least 16 years of age. If they are 18 years of age or older they will need to be fingerprinted. Youth volunteers can serve at the main library in San Andreas. There may be some ways to help at branch libraries but these will be limited. Given volunteers expertise, some work may be done from home.

Youth may serve on the board of the Friends of the Library group if they hold a Friends of the Library membership. Youth may also help with fundraising events including the Angels Camp Harvest Party (October), the Holiday Home Tour (December), the Trivia Bee (March), the Valley Springs Melodrama (February and March), the Secret Garden Party in San Andreas (June), the Arnold Library book sales (Memorial Day and Labor Day), and various book sales around the area. Young people may also have specialized skills in technology that can provide our libraries with special assistance.

Students will need to set up a regular schedule for serving, not just drop in when convenient. Training will be provided by library staff in services to be carried out.
