What is the Calaveras Youth Organization?

We are a 501 c (3) not-for-profit organization that supports and promotes youth music education in Calaveras County through collaboration with individuals, schools and community groups.  Our organization supports school music teachers as they encourage young people to appreciate music and grow in their music skills. 

Mission Statement:  We are dedicated to support music education in Calaveras County schools and to raise awareness about the importance of music as a part of each child’s complete education.  We sponsor and promote school music programs that have cultural and educational value. 

 Expectations of an ASSOCIATE of the Calaveras Youth Organization (CYO):

                Provide accurate contact information and respond to messages

                Be polite and courteous when representing CYO at public events

                Be willing and available to participate in supportive activities related to scheduled CYO events

                                Publicity (posters, banners, signs)

                                Event preparation (setup, cleanup)

                                Social media interaction and promotion

                                Event facilitating (tickets, runner, communications)

Rewards for being an ASSOCIATE of the Calaveras Youth Organization:  As an ASSOCIATE, you will be contacted when opportunities for service occur.  At the end of each school year, you will receive a Certificate of Service stating the hours you served.  This Certificate would be suitable for inclusion in your college resume.

Being an ASSOCIATE will bring involvement with positive and fun activities that will provide financial support for your music program at school.  Your work and effort in CYO events will help make those events successful, and all proceeds from those events will be used to SUPPORT Music Education in all the schools in Calaveras County, especially including your school.
